Evon Makar has been involved in the community & disability sector for close to 5 years now, originally she worked in emergency respite on a 24 hour rotating roster at Meditech Staffing prior to MY ADSS. It was here where she gained a lot of new skills and knowledge including personal care, working in time frames, transporting participants to and from important appointments, conflict resolution, supporting adults with complex behaviours and varied support needs, supporting a variety of adults living with a disability and dual diagnosis.
In the past 4 years she has been working at a day program, in this time was proven to succeed at her job and have been stepped up as a Senior Support Worker and when required stepping up as Acting Coordinator. She has gained a lot of experience with coordinator responsibilities, working with complex participants, networking with families and other service providers , conflict resolution, negotiating skills, understanding the NDIS and how it works, managing a team of staff, arranging programs to reflect each participants NDIS goals.
Evon is proud of her Egyptian heritage and likes to travel to Egypt for holidays. She enjoys cleaning, cooking and spending time with family on the weekends.
Qualifications
Certificate III in Aged care & Disabilities.
Certificate III in Child Care Services.
