Why did you choose to work at MyADSS? I choose to work at MyADSS because it values its workers, and clients. I liked that all staff would help out when needed to ensure the clients and family’s needs are met. I like that it is a family focused company that aren’t just seeking out money from clients. I like that this company allows me to have that work life balance which is really important to me at this time in my life.

Achievements: I have built a lasting relationship with a client and her family from my previous job, we keep in touch every week checking in on each other.

What is your role and Why did you pursue this role? Support coordinator. I want to help make a difference behind these scenes and for that like work balance. I loved working in the field as a support worker, but it was taking its toll on my family life. There was no work life balance- long hours, I felt undervalued as a worker even though I would be the first to take on cancelled shifts. I felt a need to ensure our clients had care and carers they could get along with.  

What impact does your role have on the participants? I’d like to feel that participants and their families can approach me with any issues or concerns they may have or be feeling.

What makes you good at your role? I am a good listener who is empathetic and sympathetic.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Travelling for a month at a time every year and celebrating Christmas and New Years in New York

What or who inspires you? My Nan inspires me. She is the strongest, most big hearted, kind and honest woman I know.

Who were your childhood heroes? Wonder woman.

3 things you would take on a desert Island: Camera, wine, and snorkels.

Favourite hobbies or interests: snorkelling, going to the beach to unwind, bushwalking, fishing, boating, 4w driving.

What is your secret skill? I have a boat license and own a boat
